Lead Mechanical Fitter/Mechanical Team Leader

We are recruiting an experienced Lead Mechanical Fitter for our client, an engineering company based in Malta. This is a hands-on leadership position for a skilled mechanical professional who is comfortable both carrying out mechanical work and supervising a team. The role involves working on industrial, marine and engineering projects in Malta and potentially other European locations.

What you will be doing

• Lead and supervise a team of mechanical fitters and tradesmen
• Carry out hands-on mechanical fitting, installation and maintenance work
• Coordinate daily tasks and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently
• Install, assemble, dismantle and maintain mechanical equipment and components
• Read and work from technical drawings and instructions
• Identify and resolve mechanical issues on site
• Ensure quality standards and project deadlines are met
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers and other team members

What we are looking for

• Strong hands-on experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Industrial Mechanic
• Previous experience leading or supervising a team
• Good practical mechanical and problem-solving skills
• Good command of English
• Valid driving licence
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for a team
• Marine, shipyard, industrial or port experience is considered an advantage
• Willingness to work in Malta and on European projects when required

What is on offer

• Gross annual salary: €30,000–€35,000, depending on experience
