Vending Machine Installation & Service Technician

Rent-A-Vend is looking for an experienced, reliable and technically skilled Vending Machine Installation & Service Technician to join our growing team in Malta.

This is a hands-on, field-based position involving the installation, servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting and restocking of vending machines at various client locations.

The successful candidate will be assigned scheduled jobs and service requests, with responsibility for completing tasks efficiently, independently and to a high professional standard.

We are seeking someone with strong technical knowledge, practical problem-solving abilities and confidence working with machinery, electronics and power tools.

The position is initially offered on a part-time basis, with the possibility of full-time employment for the right candidate. Flexibility to work morning and late-afternoon assignments between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM is essential.

Previous relevant technical experience is mandatory. This is not an entry-level position.

What you will be doing

• Install, position, configure and test vending machines at client locations.

• Carry out scheduled servicing, routine maintenance and preventative inspections.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.

• Repair or replace faulty components and ensure machines operate correctly.

• Restock vending machines, monitor stock levels and maintain cleanliness and presentation.

• Configure and troubleshoot cashless payment systems, electronic controls and machine settings.

• Safely use power tools, hand tools and technical equipment during installations and repairs.

• Attend assigned service calls and respond to technical issues efficiently.

• Maintain accurate records of completed jobs, repairs and stock requirements.

• Communicate professionally with clients and represent Rent-A-Vend to a high standard.

• Work independently across multiple locations while following assigned schedules and priorities.

What we are looking for

• Minimum 1 year of relevant hands-on technical experience preferred.

• Previous experience in equipment installation, technical servicing, maintenance, electronics, electrical or mechanical work.

• Strong technical aptitude and proven troubleshooting skills.

• Confident and competent in using power tools, hand tools and installation equipment.

• Good understanding of electronics, modern technology and basic software or connectivity troubleshooting.

• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out practical repairs independently.

• Reliable, punctual, organised and capable of managing assigned tasks.

• Professional appearance, good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.

• Flexible availability between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, including morning and late-afternoon assignments.

• Physically capable of safely handling equipment, performing installations and restocking machines.

• Valid driving licence.

• Good command of English.

• Must already be eligible to work in Malta/EU.

Experience with vending machines, automated equipment, payment terminals or similar technical systems will be considered a strong advantage.

Previous relevant technical experience is essential. Candidates without a suitable technical background will not be considered.
